About Trevor Anderson

Trevor Anderson is a self-taught, independent filmmaker and musician based in Edmonton, Canada. His work has screened at many major international film festivals, including Sundance, Berlin, and Toronto. For his film “Rock Pockets”, Trevor won the inaugural Lindalee Tracey Award at Hot Docs in Toronto, presented to “an emerging Canadian filmmaker working with passion, humour, a strong sense of social justice and a personal point of view.” “The Island” won the jury prize for Best Short Film at the Pink Apple Film Festival in Zürich, and “The High Level Bridge” received an Honourable Mention for Live Action Short Film from the American Film Institute at AFI Fest in Los Angeles. “The Man That Got Away” won the DAAD Short Film Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival. Trevor has won awards of excellence for his work in the professional theatre as a playwright, producer and director. He is a founding member of the rock’n’roll band THE WET SECRETS whose song “Secret March” was listed by CBC Radio 3 as one of the “Best Songs of the Decade”. Previously, Trevor was a founding member of Edmonton punk two-piece THE VERTICAL STRUTS. Both bands have toured North America and charted in the top ten of the national college radio charts.
